- Hanging your drapery close to the ceiling will give the room a dramatic illusion of height.
- Consider a raised bed frame for storage room underneath.
- Use a pot rack to give a homey feel and take advantage of unused vertical space.
- Store an ottoman underneath your coffee table for extra seating. It's an added bonus if you can also store things in your ottoman.
- A standing open shelving unit in a room really helps separate two spaces in a studio, like the bedroom and living room, while letting light and air throughand providing storage.
- Don't stray away from bulkier furniture just because your space is small. It can actually make the room feel larger than one with a collection of multiple smaller pieces.
- Make full use of corners with corner tables, shelves and benches.
- Consider open shelving in the kitchen or bathroom to help with storage problems. Just make sure you stock them in a visually thoughtful way.
- Store a bench under your dining table for more seating that can be tucked out of the way when not in use.
- Consider small nooks or closets for home office space. You can always close them off with a simple curtain.

The ghost subway station of New York
Yeah you are right! I am yet to visit New York but this will definitely be one of my choice sites to see when i eventually do.
It was supposed to be the showpiece of New York City’s new subway system.
Stained glass windows, skylights and brass chandeliers adorned its curved walls and arched ceilings.
But City Hall station was unexpectedly closed to the public a mere 41 years after opening its doors in 1904.

Yes, you had struggles to get through, troubles to overcome, loved ones to deal with, and goals to achieve. But a break from it all is more than necessary. It gives you an opportunity to discover who you really are, and to figure out why you truly are always alone.

Oak Tube Apartment is a Stunning Study in Natural Lighting
This fifth-floor Moscow apartment suffered from a dilemma common to high-rise flats: a dire lack of natural lighting. Windows at one end of the apartment were so far separated from the balcony at the other end that the middle of the home received almost no sunlight. To counteract this darkness, architect Peter Kostelov came up with a daring solution.

Dream Treehouse
I've always wanted a treehouse when I was a child but living in a city made it a little difficult. Instead, we would built forts, tents or just crawl under the bed to play. It's weird right now but back then we really loved having those hideouts where nobody could find us. We could stay there for as long as we wanted. Telling horror stories and feeling like these were the safest places to be.
But what happens if you're an adult and still dream of a treehouse? Living among nature has always been such a wonderful thing to me. I don't feel like a city girl at all. Always craving for nature, woods, grass, berries, animals, fresh air, calmness... everything that living in a city prevents you from.
I did a little web research for treehouses all over the world and oh my what I found. I hope you enjoy these homes just as much as I did! :)
Bamboo wonder: Green Village
Green Village, founded by jewelry designer John Hardy and designed by his daughter Elora, is a community of sustainable and ecological houses sitting along the Ayung River in Bali. Each of the homes are made entirely of bamboo, from Bali-based bamboo and construction company Ibuku, from the window frames to the staircase, tables, chairs, floors, and even the cabinets and the walls. Did you know that with very little attention or additional resources, a bamboo shoot can become a structural column within three years and that house could stand strong for a lifetime? Honestly, amazing.

Some Insane Discoveries That Science Can't Explain
We like to feel superior to the people who lived centuries ago, what with their shitty mud huts and curing colds by drilling a hole in their skulls. But we have to give them credit: They left behind some artifacts that have left the smartest of modern scientists scratching their heads.
For instance, you have the following enigmas that we believe were created for no other purpose than to fuck with future generations.
